🏰 Chess Castle

The Chess Castle of Minnesota is the largest and most active chess club in the state. Now located in Edina’s Southdale Mall, in 2023 the Castle welcomed more than 300 people playing 3,500 games in 126 USCF-rated events. Find a variety of events and time controls on weekends and weekdays.

Rochester Chess is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit whose mission is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for youth and adults to play chess and to receive chess instruction. In particular, Rochester Chess is committed to improving academic performance and self-esteem of underserved youth in our community.

🌆 Twin Cities Metro Chess

Twin Cities Metropolitan Chess Club is a social chess club. We are building a new community of chess players that will meet at coffee shops and parks during the warm months and then shift over to the bars and coffee shops during the colder months. Most games are unrated and casual, both with and without clocks. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Events are located in the Twin Cities and its southern suburbs.

The Nicollet Knights Chess Club is a 501(c)(3) organization and serves as the Nicollet Middle School chess team located in Burnsville, MN. Our mission is:
To build character and encourage children to overcome the fear of risk-taking • to teach concentration and self-discipline • to enable children to assume responsibility for their decisions • to reward determination and perseverance • to raise self-esteem and promote good sportsmanship • to encourage socialization skills that extend across cultures and generations. 

🖇️ About MSCA Affiliates

Affiliate memberships facilitate ongoing collaboration with the MSCA as we work together to grow Minnesota’s chess community. Affiliates might be clubs, individual coaches, or other chess organizations. There is a 3-step process to become a registered MSCA affiliate.
