David Kuhns TD, 2007 MN Championship 2007 Minnesota Closed Championships Wrap-up Day 1 saw white win all 6 games played. Day 2 was a much better day for the black pieces. Black scored 10 wins and 3 draws out of 21 games on Saturday. On day 3, all 3 sections came down to the final round. First, in the Reserve, Alexander Powell won with the black pieces against Christopher Gill to finish the tournament with a perfect score. Then, in a bizarre collection of events, Matt Carlson secured first place in the Amateur with a draw against Donald Hooker in the only 5th round game in the Amateur section. To wrap the tournament up, Victor Adler, with a one point lead going into the final round, claimed another title by drawing Wilson Gibbins.
